How To Charge Your Life | How To Lovingly Give
I learned today that people in general live 3 kinds of lives: caged, comfortable and charged.
A caged life does not mean that someone locked you in a cage. Well, actually, you did lock yourself in the regrets of the past and the fears of the future. Often you are trapped by the endless effort to please others. You like following rules and never dare to follow different directions (God forbid!).
If you happen to live a comfortable life, you kind of made it. All of the luxuries are lined up: nice house, nice cars, and a nice family. You have great kids who you love dearly. You are happy, but if you ask yourself how your life is going, your answer is “Well, I guess I am doing OK”.
Do you find something in common between these 2 lives? They are both self-inflicted hamster wheels. The first one is economy class. This class provides the means to survival. The second one is first class. It provides the means to acceptance and success. But still, hamster wheels…
The third kind of life is about expressing your true potential and aliveness. This is the charged life. Your imagination is fully unleashed. You tend to notice and wonder about “normal” things, like a stunning sunset and refreshing rain. No more distortion and deleting of priceless information. You are awake!
I also learned that there are 2 ways of giving: “giving to” and “giving of”.
“Giving to” has an external impact and produces positive results. You can give to charity, your church, company, etc. It is about giving time, skills, money, labor, and whatever else you have to offer. You impact the World. Make sure that your “Giving to” is deeply and personally significant to you. This is the way to serve and feel a deep sense of fulfillment.
“Giving of” is bringing up the best in you while performing even a simple ordinary task. Bring the best in you to bear any endeavor. By simply being who you are, you can contribute significantly to the world. In other words, do ordinary things extraordinarily well.
Your subconscious will get you anything if asked the right questions. By applying what you’ve read about here, you can start making some changes. Just for starters, here are the right questions to ask yourself.
1. Do you feel caged? What can you do to change that feeling?
2. Do you feel too comfortable or complacent? What can you do to live a more charged life?
3. What external information sources do you need to reduce or eliminate from your life?
4. Are there any toxic people in your life? If so, what can you do to minimize your exposure to them?
5. Are there any circumstances that you are allowing to control you? What can you do to gain control of that circumstance or your response to it?
6. List a few ways you contribute to the world around you.
7. In what ways are you giving of yourself by being fully you?

HI Margarita
Again a mind blowing post!
I feel many people I meet they are actually caged, they devote too much time thinking about the past, wasting their time regretting of committing or not committing in the past and thinking of success or failure in future as well.
At times I usually advice such people to live in present and enjoy the present to the fullest.
Thanks again for sharing this wonderful piece.

Sapna,
very impressive feedback. People usually feel compelled by their ego to continoue telling their old “victim story”. It is a real addiction!
So, I see it this way: Change your story and your life will change.

Omar,
the support of like minded people is an important accelerator of change. If someone believes in you before you do, this gives you tremendous courage and passion to do waht it takes. I read many biographies of successful people. They all had their “cheer leader”.

Margarita,
I definitely don’t feel too comfortable so I must be on the right path.
I am no longer around toxic people…you know they can really drain your energy!
All in all I feel very lucky to be doing something I really want to do and also have it a service to others.
Also having the support of the loved ones around me.
Great post…thought provoking.

Tonya,
if the toxic people disappeared from your life, it means that you have changed. I am happy for you. Often I see people divorcing, just only to get married to the same person in another skin. So obvious.
If we could only get it! If we want change, we do it from within first!
Thank you for your great comment!

Hi Margarita,
No wonder why you always take the subject of Personal Development ’cause it affects every other area
Mind is always do wonders.
I was felt I’ve been caged for sure Margarita. I was forced to do things and I was afraid of doing things out of the circle eventhough I like to do. When I love something, I used to do it with full of my heart and it doesn’t count how much tired or taking time though. The computer made the change and that’s where I started doing things on my own though
Well, I don’t say I have toxic people dear. There were people who wanted to take my time to troubleshoot their computers and didn’t thought of my time. I love to be with computers, so whatever their intention, I solved the puzzles for ‘em. I didn’t say I can’t though I know they don’t come to me when I need them either. Helping someone always enlighted me, so I helped ‘em.
Anyway my offline friends are not into my blogging stuff, so I always believed hanging out with right and like-minded people is always matters. I’ve made such a wonderful connections online and really happy about that too. So I think I’ve miniized toxic people all the way by hanging out with right folks.
Now I don’t know exactly I’m charged, comfortable or caged. I think you can tell me about that dear
Let’s see what you think.
Have a wodnerful week Margarita
Cheers…

Mayura,
Thank you for your comment. You touched on doing for the others great work, without them considering your time. I think it is up to us to keep our “relations balance book” checked. Of someone is too much on the receiving side, without giving anything in return, you just remove them from the book. Balance is important.
Have a productive and pleasant day!

Hi Margarita,
This is such a powerful post. Loved it!
I admit, I used to be the first two. But when I got more and more into personal development I changed. I had a lot of negative self-talk before. I didn’t even need negative people in my life to get down. Like I said that all changed as I developed myself. I don’t allow toxic people in my life and if I catch myself thinking negatively I change that pretty quick. There’s always two sides to a coin and even in the negative you can find something positive.
I feel if you give of…that sets the bar already. The more you give of yourself to others the more positive charges you get back which charges you even more. It’s a constant cycle of positivity.
Thanks for sharing this awesome, awesome post!

Hi, Ilka,
I started on my path of personal development at the age of 48. Now, 7 years later, I found myself able to see more, but not being able to actually move forward on the physical. The mind chatter is even more vicious. At this point, it is even more paiful. Now I understand the saying: “Blessed are poor in spirit”. Still not giving up.

Hi Margarita,
Another great thought provoking post Margarita.
I have to say that I have been caged most of my life but I am glad now that I am learning new skills and got more into personal development practices, I can see that I have changed a lot especially in mindset.
Giving is the best thing to do in your life time and the more you give the more you grow and receive.
Thanks for sharing this wonderful post!
Be Blessed,

Hi, Neamat,
Iwas born in ex-communist country, so I was definitely caged! Then I started moving out. A lot of fear and “uncomfort zones”. I believe in chaos theory. When something new emerges, the old has to die. But the catch is that there are 2 possible outcomes: complete dissipation of the old unit or emerging a new one. Which is to happen? Well, I decided to take my chances and see.

Well Margarita, my life sure has grown but I wouldn’t say it’s totally charged. I mean for the most part it is which to me just means I have more work to do but don’t we all.
I use to hold myself back, I use to think I could never do certain things and I use to be afraid of stepping outside my comfort zone. Thank God for personal development and learning more about who we truly are and then believing in ourselves.
I love the lessons you share here for us. I can definitely tell that you have grown so much as well since the first time we met and I admire you for continuing to help us grow and improve in our thinking.
Thank you so much for that Margarita!

Adrienne,
thank you for your supportive thoughts. The more we become, the more we are able to take uncomfortable actions and the more responsibilities to carry.
We must do things we unitially think we cannot do. Then we are certain the we are in a “growing mode”. Believing in ourselves, better yet someone else to start believing in us, is the key.
