End Goals vs Means Goals

End Goals vs Means Goals | Learn To Be A Visionary, Not A Realist!

Always ask about What and Why? Never ask How and When!

We as human beings carry within us the potential to live awesome lives. Why, then, do 99% of us live in utter mediocrity? Can you believe that only 1% of us reach full potential? This is the reason you have to learn to differentiate End Goals vs Means Goals.

This outcome is due to bad mental programming through sociological and cultural upbringing. “The Virus Of The Mind” by Richard Brodie provides insight into this incorrect upbringing by introducing the concept of the meme, which is a unit of cultural ideas transmitted from one mind to another. Things such as beliefs, catch phrases, melodies, and trends are common examples of memes.

We are all programmed to go to school, to find a job, to save for retirement, and, if we saved well, to live a good life in our final 20 or so years. This is called “the retirement paradox.” We tend to slave away from 9 to 5 and in order to save money through the 401k and IRAs so that we can live our dream life when we finally retire. Well, we really have it all wrong because this is not the way to live.

It appears that our goal is retirement! We focus our entire life on “means goals” instead of “end goals.” Going to school and getting a PHD has nothing to do with your end goal; it is simply a step you take to acquire a tool to help you reach your end goal. Many of us confuse these two very different types of goals!

To escape the way of thinking instilled in us by society, we have to learn to ask ourselves the right questions. But what are the right questions? The following list gives you a peak into some of the big questions we MUST be thinking about in regards to our end goals:

1. Where would you live?
2. What would your dream house look like?
3. What time would you wake up?
4. What would you do in the morning?
5. What would you do during the 1st half of your day?
6. Who would you have lunch and dinner with?

Continue in this direction and come up with more lifestyle questions. Think end goals and avoid the normal path. Do not be realistic (remember society’s idea of “realistic” is mediocrity)! Many build their lives according to what they see, but do not wait until you see it in reality. Start seeing in your mind!

What is your mountain? This question, if no other, is the one you must know the answer to. In other words, what do you want to accomplish in life before you die? How do you know if the mountain you’ve chosen really is an end goal? Ask yourself, “Am I growing; am I contributing?” If you answer “yes” to both, then you have a beautiful end goal before you.

Always ask about What and Why?

Usually, end goals involve charity and giving to communities in need. If you want to donate $100,000 to the cause you’re committed to, then you have to earn it first. In order to earn it, you have to grow. Obviously, this sort of goal is a solid mountain.

The human mind is an amazing and powerful creation. When you give it a vision, then synchronicity and inspiration come your way. Perfect opportunities and ideas start knocking and presenting themselves.

By asking the right questions, the unseen creative powers of your mind begin working. Mediocre people clearly aren’t asking themselves the right questions because their minds remain unused.

Discover the difference between “End Goals vs Means Goals“!

What we think we want and what we truly want are 2 completely different things.

The only difference between successful and people and non-successful people is their mindset. Successful people are able to see things before they happen; whereas, non-successful people just see what happens. Envision your goals in your mind before you see them reality. Forget about reality and start creating it.

You have the vision and create what you want in your mind. Then your intention will start growing into a powerful manifestation. It will take some time, of course; however, the first step towards your liberating circumstances is the freedom to make a decision. Do it now!

Make a decision to find your end goal. Think about your dream lifestyle and the people to be surrounded with. Watch this life changing video to see how a homeless man risen from ashes to become a leader of more than 100,000 followers. To watch is free, but freedom is never free. It takes dedication, imagination and burning desire. Be blessed!

It took me a long time to find this system. It was the catalyst to my accepting my freedom to chose and start my new journey. I was skeptical first, because I resisted it. But it turned out to be my chance to empower my freedom within.

Hey Margarita,
This is so true, the majority of people are too scared to dream or have a goal in case they fail or miss their goal.
The fact is if only they “dare to dream” in the first place the mere thought process creates action and puts us in the right place at the right time to achieve progress toward our goals.
This progress is an achievement in itself. The dream produces progress.

Onward And Upwards To Success

Hi Gary,

thanks for stopping by. Yes, you are right. The fear of disappointment is stronger than creating big. This is because our limiting belief system keeps us imprisoned. It is all self service.

It takes shift to realize that we are the sculptors and not the piece of sculpture.

Hi Margarita,

Don’t you hate it when you hear “be realistic”? I personally can’t stand it when someone tells me that. Fortunately for me, my mother could tell you that I’ve never been “realistic” since I was a child. That’s why I’ve been called crazy a lot.

As I was reading your post, I couldn’t help smiling when you said that we basically spend our life with retirement in mind, in other words, when its ending. It’s so sad it made me laugh!

So, thank you for these reminders, Margarita. I only wish more people just wake up and smell the coffee on that one :)

Hi Sylviane,

to be realistic means to settle for whatever. This is not what we are meant to do in life. The fear of not even getting the little drops of water prevents us from having the river.

We have to retrain ourselves to think back words. That we must believe before we see. We must believe to create. If we see it, it is a done deal. Too late to do anything. This is why we have to be ok with whatever is. It has been created for us already. No sense to fight. Just relax and start creating anew.

Hi Margarita,

Great Post to visualize our end goal instead of focusing on our reality.

You are right, it is all instilled in our minds as we were brought up that we have to work hard to earn it or to be realistic and don’t dream. Believe me, that’s what my husband tells me all the time. But you said it right, the difference between successful people and the non-successful is only the mindset.

Thanks Margarita for a great reminder and for the list of the lifestyle questions you put up. It will help visualizing more clearly what is our end goal. Have yourself a great week ahead.

Be Blessed,

Dear Neamat,

I have been in a process of realizing the secret. Which is that there is none. There are 2 major things for us to do: feeling good in the now (being in the flow, being in the vortex) and having a clear vision of where we are going (end goals, “feel the feelings of the wish fulfilled”). This is it! Simple!!!

If we are worried about how to do stuff, we feel stressed and we stay in our own way.

Thanks for your insightful comment!!!

Hello Margarita,

This was enlightening about end and mean goals. Once one has the end goal in mind, it is easy to craft the way towards it.

Thanks for sharing, loved reading your post,

Ruthida Namubiru.

Dear Ruthida,

Thank you for commenting on my post. I find that when we have the end goal clear, it serves as a point of focus. Then even if we get distracted with the wrong means goal, we can easily get back on track.

Be well!
